Dhanush alias Venkatesh Prabhu (born 28 July 1983), better known by his stage name Dhanush, is an Indian film actor, producer, director, writer, lyricist, screenwriter, and playback singer who has predominantly starred in Tamil language films.

Initial Life: Dhanush made his film debut in 2002 for the film ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai ‘

The film was directed by Selvaraghavan but For promotion purposes, the film was released under the banner name as directed by His father Kasturi Raja. The film received a great response and appreciation. But the allegations and comments made on Dhanush were not taken into the light. Especially the scene from the climax of the film where Dhanush wears a military uniform

As a 90’s kid at the time of 2003, we were all around 8 to 12 years old. People our age have not much knowledge about films. But there was one movie named ‘Kaadhal kondean ‘ directed by Great Selvaraghvan has Turned and shakes the Tamil film industry and engaged more people to see the different genres of films. Special thanks to Yuvan Shankar Raja for his great soulful music . The film went to become a Blockbuster hit. Dhanush has gained a great appreciation from critics as a result he proved that he will become a great actor.

but still, he cannot able to erase the negative comments thrown about his personality.

His Third film ‘Thirudha Thirudhi ‘ has gained major success and also done good numbers at the box office. The song ‘Manmadha Rasa ‘ has gained a Massive success and reach every nook and corner in the state of Tamilnadu. Many youngsters have pasted the poster of that song in the back of Auto rickshaws

Dhanush has become an overnight star at the beginning of 2004. Most people have wondered and raised their eyebrows by seeing the raise of Dhanush's success.

Dhanush has failed to provide a box office hit for more than 3 years. Dhanush loses his popularity and loses the name of the fore-front runner of Tamil cinema. But Dhanush has never failed to disappoint with his acting. Even though, he did not have great success The performance which he does in the devathaiai kandean was much appreciated by the family audience and critics.

Dhanush starts to taste success :

In 2006, Dhanush gets hitched to his love interest Aishwarya. May the lady luck favors the way? It definitely does for Dhanush.

Post his marriage, Dhanush's career takes a U-Turn, Dhanush and selvaraghavan combined for the third time and produced a cult classic Film that Tamil cinema never fail to remember.

The film is about a high school kid who joins a gang and becomes a drug dealer, then a politician. The films have received a great appreciation from the critics and audience, in fact Dhanush has well soaked into the character name ‘KOKKI KUMARU’

Pudhupettai has gained 8.4 in the IMDB rating. The film has done decent numbers in the initial stage at the box office but failed to bring the family audience to the theaters.

Followed by pudhupettai , Dhanush has done commercial films like Thiruvilayadal Aarambam which went on to become a super - hit at the box office

A combo that changed Tamil film Industry :

Vetrimaran and Dhanush have become friends while directing the movie ‘Adhu Oru kana kaalam ‘ directed by Great legendary Balu Mahendra . Dhanush and Vetri Maran have been searching for producers to direct a new film but none of them have failed to accept the script titled ‘Desiya Nedunchalai ‘. So they have opted for another script, Which turns out to be the biggest blockbuster in the Dhanush career. Not only that the looks in this movie have made Dhanush haters stop criticize his personality.

Yes its polladhavan .

Polladhavan was released in the year of 2007 with films Surya’s Vel and Vijay Azhagiya Tamil magan . Initially, polladhavan received a low number of screens in theaters but word of mouth has made the audience brought to theatres. Polladhavan made a huge success in the box office and emerged as one of the highest collected movies in the year 2007.

Post polladhavan , Dhanush has acted a Telugu remake film ‘Yaradi ne Mohini ‘ which went to become a huge success in the box office and become a blockbuster hit. The film which brings Dhanush close to the family audience and gained him a ‘Boy to the next door ‘ Image

Later films like Mapillai, Seedan, Venghai, Mayakam enna have all failed to produce box office hit and become Flop.

‘Y this Kolaveri Di ‘ song has created the greatest sensation in the Indian film Industry. Suddenly Dhanush has become an International Star. The song which brings social media active and made a huge strike among the youngsters.

But Films like 3, Maryan, and Nayandi have Only proved Dhanush as an actor to the next level but failed to hit the box office.

Dhanush into the Bollywood: The success of the Viral song ‘Kolaveri DI ‘ has given chance for Dhanush for stepping into the Bollywood Industry

Raanjhanaa has become the Biggest hit In Bollywood and Dhanush has won best debut actor for the year 2013.

But Dhanush has not tasted any success in Kollywood Until the Film happened ‘Vellailla Pathadari ‘ ( unemployed ). In the meanwhile, Dhanush has started a production company named ‘ Wunderbar Films ‘.

The Film which made with a Budget of 25 crores produced a box office number of 94 crores worldwide collection. The audience much appreciated this film and went to become the highest collected movie in the Dhanush Film career Till now

Post VIP, Dhanush movies has done good business in the opening days but failed to convert into big ones. Films like Anegan, Thodari, Kodi, Thanga Magan has been the best examples.

Again Films like VIP - 2 and Maari - 2 have again do good business in the opening days but failed to give Dhanush a blockbuster hit.

Dhanush and Vetri Maran dream project - A much-awaited film Vada Chennai has hit the screens in 2018 . The film went on to gain a great reception from the critics and have made the best opening day 1 collection for Dhanush but again failed to bring the family audience to the theatres due to the blood and raw nature of the film. Though it still remains as one of the best Tamil films.

The film has got IMDB rating of 8.6 which is most for any Dhanush film .

Dhanush and Vetri Maran has join hands for the 4th time and they never failed to impress the audience . They does that with Asuran

Though Dhanush has produced 9 Flop movies but he still considers as a best actor ‘ Nadippin Asuran ‘.

In the 17 years of Film career , Dhanush has won 6 Filmfare Awards for his Films 3 , Aadukalam , Ranjahna , Vellaiila patahdari , Maryaan only next to great Kamalahassan .

Dhanush has won 3 National Awards. Dhanush has directed the film ‘power pandi ‘ in the year 2017.

Undoubtedly Dhanush as an actor, producer , Director , Lyricist , Singer contributed lot to the cinema .

Not as a Fan of Dhanush , But as a Great fan of Cinema, I believe Dhanush is the best actor who emerged as the best actor in the south film industry.
